ROCKY MOUNT – Through a designed pilot program outlined in the new N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’
Staffing Plan, the part-time Driver License office in Sparta will begin offering express services to customers Monday-Friday from 8:30 a.m.-noon, and 1-4:30 p.m. on Dec. 15.
“This is the start of an ongoing, data-driven process,” said DMV Commissioner Paul Tine.” We will continue to monitor wait times, transaction trends, and customer feedback to keep improving how and where we deliver service.”
The Sparta office is one of eight part-time driver license offices in North Carolina suggested in the Staffing Plan to expand its services to five days a week.
The one-person staffed office will continue to provide express services only such as driver license renewals, duplicates, original state-issued IDs, and REAL ID issuances. No written, knowledge or road skills testing will be provided. Many services are also available online at
NCDMV.gov.
