WASHINGTON – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close lanes on Market Street near John Small Avenue to finish the paving operation that started in September.
Work began today and will continue to completion through Saturday evening, if needed.
Construction will take place daily from 7 a.m.-5 p.m. This work will require lane closures in both directions and brief delays but traffic will be able to use Market Street throughout the paving process.
Drivers are encouraged to plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and consider alternative routes when possible. Please stay alert, follow posted signage, and obey directions from flagging personnel to ensure the safety of workers and the traveling public.
