MOCKSVILLE – A section of Interstate 40 West is scheduled to close overnight on Dec. 19 for crews to set steel girders for a new bridge.
Westbound traffic will be detoured between exits 180 (N.C. 801) and 174 (Farmington Road) from 11 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Saturday.
The detour will send westbound drivers off I-40 at Exit 180, staying on N.C. 801 to U.S. 158 and to Farmington Road to re-access I-40 West. During these overnight closures, the Davie County Rest Area at mile marker 177 for I-40 West will be closed.
A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation is replacing the bridge on Pinebrook School Road across Interstate 40.
