MT. PLEASANT – The N.C. Department of Transportation has awarded a $799,491 contract to replace the bridge on Mauney Road over Little Meadow Creek in Mt. Pleasant. Mocksville contractor Eastern Structures, LLC, recently earned the contract.
Work can start as soon as mid-January, requiring contract crews to close Mauney Road and detour traffic to have a safe work area. During this phase of the project, drivers will be detoured from Mauney Road to N.C. 200 and County Line Road, returning to Mauney Road.
The bridge should be open to traffic by summer 2026, with landscaping and vegetation work ongoing through January 2027.
