WINSTON-SALEM – As part of the ongoing Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project, a contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will conduct a slow-moving traffic operation on Interstate 40 Westbound this weekend to install pavement markings, weather permitting.
The operation is scheduled to begin at 11:00 p.m. Saturday and is expected to be completed by 1:00 a.m. Sunday. Work will take place from Mile Marker 201 (Union Cross Road) to Mile Marker 198 (High Point Road).
No detour is necessary, as any traffic backups will be cleared before the operation progresses along the route.
Motorists are advised to anticipate potential delays and drive with increased caution while traveling through the overnight work zone.
