HALIFAX – Drivers on N.C. 48 will encounter a detour next week so state highway workers can replace two aging drainage pipes under the highway.
The closure to through traffic between Justice Branch and Wright roads outside the Aurelian Springs community will begin at 7 a.m. Monday. The work is expected to be completed by Jan. 16, weather permitting.
The detour will consist of Justice Branch, Aurelian Springs and Hawkins Chapel roads.
Drivers should allow extra travel time and use caution near the work zone.
