RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close a ramp Thursday night at the Interstate 40/I-440/U.S. 1 interchange for soil testing.
The ramp will close at 11 p.m. and reopen Friday morning at 5, weather permitting.
Drivers on U.S. 1 North and I-440 West who want to access I-40 East will be detoured to take I-40 West to Exit 291 (Cary Town Boulevard) to return to I-40 East.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and pay extra attention in the work zone.
