ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles’ driver license office (DLO) in Elizabeth City remains closed through at least the end of February to allow for building repairs resulting from the winter storm in late January.
NCDMV is working to find a temporary office location in Elizabeth City to continue providing service to customers during the closure. The permanent office, at 1164 U.S. 17 South in Elizabeth City, is expected to reopen in March. All customers with appointments have been rescheduled.
In the meantime, customers can visit any of the following three nearby DLOs:
• Edenton, 307 W. Freemason St.
• Ahoskie, 1821 Carolina Ave. (U.S. 17)
• Nags Head, 2808 S. Croatan Highway (U.S. 158)
DMV offers driver license renewals and many other services online. Customers are encouraged to check the official DMV website at
NCDMV.gov to see if their driver license needs can be met online.
