HILLSBOROUGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation are set to close an off-ramp along Interstate 85 this week, weather permitting.
The Exit 163 off-ramp from I-85 South to I-40 East will close starting Feb. 12 at 5 p.m. to allow for concrete paving work. The ramp is expected to reopen Feb. 14 at 5 p.m.
During the closure, a signed detour will direct motorists to take Exit 161 to get on the I-40 East on-ramp.
Transportation officials remind drivers to plan ahead, remain alert and obey all posted traffic signs.
