RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close two left turn lanes of U.S. 401 at Perry Creek Road for two weeks. The closures are necessary to allow crews to complete pipe and traffic signal installation, paving, and construction of a concrete traffic island.
The closure is scheduled to begin the afternoon of Feb.16 and reopen in two weeks, weather permitting.
The left turn lanes on U.S. 401 at Perry Creek Road will be closed. Drivers who need to access Perry Creek Road should continue straight on U.S. 401, use the next available location to make a U-turn, then return on U.S. 401 and turn right onto Perry Creek Road.
Motorists traveling through the area should expect delays and are encouraged to plan alternate routes when possible. Drivers are advised to use caution, follow posted detour signage, and remain alert for construction workers and equipment.
