DENTON – Contract crews for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close Tysinger Road near Emmons Mine Road for a pipe replacement project, weather permitting.
Crews will close Tysinger Road in both directions Feb. 23 through March 13 to replace the existing pipe system, which is in poor condition.
Upon completion of this project, the contractor will move approximately 1.75 miles south on Tysinger Road to replace another deteriorating pipe beneath the roadway, which has caused a dip in the road surface.
A signed detour will be in place during the closure.
Drivers are urged to use caution in the area and follow posted detour signs.
