UPDATE: Feb. 23: NCDOT contract crews have postponed the upcoming I-40 lane closures and will announce the new date when it is scheduled.

MOCKSVILLE – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close the left and right lanes of Interstate 40 eastbound and westbound to adjust the previously installed overhang forms for the new bridge.
On Feb. 23, the left lanes in each direction will close from 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. I-40 westbound left lane will close between mile markers 175-177 and eastbound left lane from mile markers 174-176.
On Feb. 24, the right lanes in each direction will close during the same time period. I-40 westbound left lane will close between mile markers 175-177 and eastbound left lane from mile markers 174-176.
Drivers should allow extra time, use caution near the work zone and follow all posted detours.
