CHARLOTTE – This afternoon, N.C. Department of Transportation bridge and maintenance crews have closed a section of Wildlife Road in southwest Mecklenburg County to install an 84 – inch pipe under the roadway.
The replacement project is expected to take at least four weeks, due to the size and depth of pipe being installed, necessary demolition/reconstruction activities, and avoiding existing utilities.
During the closure, drivers will be detoured from Wildlife Road to Withers Cove Road, Crane Creek Drive, Limehurst Place, Eagle Oak Drive and Shopton Road West, returning to Wildlife Road.
Repairs are anticipated to be completed by early April.
