RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close a section of St. Albans Drive for one year as part of a grade separation project.
Crews will close both directions of St. Albans Drive near New Hope Church Road March 17 at 9 a.m., weather permitting. At the same time, crews will shift traffic on New Hope Church Road.
Traffic from New Hope Church Road West side will detour to Atlantic Avenue, Wolfpack Lane and Bush Street back to St. Albans Drive.
Traffic from St. Albans Drive will detour to Bush Street, Wolfpack Lane, Atlantic Avenue back to New Hope Church Road.
Drivers should slow down in the work zone and follow posted detours.
The construction of the grade separation is part of the S-Line project, a high-performance passenger rail line. NCDOT met with federal, state and private sector partners last month.
