MOORESVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will continue widening efforts on N.C. 150 in Iredell County this week to install storm drainage across the entrance ramp from N.C. 150 to I–77 North.
To install the storm drainage across the ramp crews will close the ramp just after midnight Friday and Saturday mornings, with the road reopening by 5 a.m.
Signed detours will guide drivers around the closure using the following routes:
N.C. 150 East approaching I-77:
- Turn right on Williamson Rd.
- Turn left on Brawley School Rd.
- Turn left on I-77 North
N.C. 150 West approaching I-77:
- Turn left on Talbert Rd.
- Turn right on Brawley School Rd.
- Turn right on I-77 North
The closures are part of the $249 million N.C. 150 widening project between N.C. 16 in Catawba County and U.S. 21/N.C. 150 in Mooresville, and an improved interchange with I-77.
Construction began last year, with crews upgrading storm drainage, coordinating utility installation, relocating traffic signals and installing walls to separate the work zone from traffic.
Motorists are encouraged to pay attention when approaching the work zone, obey the posted speed limit, and allow extra time to reach their destinations safely.
