ELKIN – N.C. Department of Transportation crews will begin replacing a Wilkes County bridge early next week.
Crews will begin replacing the 54-year-old bridge on Preacher Field Road, by closing the road Monday, March 23. It will remain closed until construction ends later this spring.
A signed detour will guide drivers around the detour using Cool Springs Church Road, CB Eller School Road, East Carter Mill Road and Pleasant Ridge Road before returning to Preacher Field Road.
