Reduced Conflict Intersection Coming to Duplin County

BEULAVILLE – To improve safety, the N.C. Department of Transportation will convert a Duplin County intersection beginning next week.

Along N.C. 24, the intersection with North/South Williams Road near Beulaville will be converted to a reduced conflict intersection (RCI), reducing the risk of crashes and simplifying traffic movements. Beginning March 23, work will necessitate intermittent lane and median closures on N.C. 24 in both directions at this intersection.

Work will take place Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily. The road is expected to reopen with the new pattern by late April. Learn more about RCI’s on the department’s webpage.

This work is weather-dependent and could be rescheduled. Drivers should use caution and reduce speed while traveling through the work zone.
