WINSTON-SALEM – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close lanes on Interstate 40 this weekend as part of the ongoing Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.
Between March 29 and April 2, lanes on I-40 East near High Point Road will close nightly to allow crews to safely remove the temporary concrete barrier wall that is positioned adjacent to the eastbound travel lanes.
The scheduled closures will occur as follows:
March 29: The left lane of I-40 East will be closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. between mile markers 197 and 201.
March 30 – April 2: The left lane of I-40 East will be closed nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. between mile markers 197 and 201. This work is weather-permitting and could be postponed.
Drivers should slow down, use caution and watch for crews in the work zone.
