WINSTON-SALEM – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will begin alternating lane closures on a section of Interstate 74 West next week.
The right lane of I-74 West from Union Cross Road (Exit 59) to Ridgewood Road (Exit 56) will be closed daily from April 7 through April 14, between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m.
Starting April 7, crews will alternate lane closures daily through April 14 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., weather permitting.
The work is necessary to allow crews to switch to the new alignment.
Significant traffic delays are expected, and motorists are urged to plan ahead and follow posted detour.
