ALBEMARLE – The N.C. Department of Transportation has awarded a $1.2 million contract to replace the bridge on Old Aquadale Road over Little Creek in Stanly County. Contractor NJR Group Inc. earned the contract last month.
The project can start as early as the end of April with the contract calling for the new bridge to open to traffic no later than late January 2027. Other construction activities like landscaping and vegetation establishment can continue into spring 2027.
A signed detour will be in place along Reap Road while Old Aquadale Road is closed for the bridge replacement phase at a future date to be determined.
