RALEIGH – Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of Flat Rock Road east of Creedmoor Road this month for a bridge replacement project.
Flat Rock Road will close between the north and south ends of Grove Hill Road starting April 13 at 9 a.m., weather permitting. During construction, crews will replace the bridge built in 1957 over Ford Creek and construct a new structure up to current standards. The road is expected to reopen this fall.
A signed detour will direct drivers to use Grove Hill Road as an alternate route around the closure.
Officials encourage drivers to plan ahead, allow extra travel time and use caution when traveling near the work zone.
