Lane Closure Upcoming for I-40 in Forsyth County

WINSTON SALEM – A contractor for the N.C. Department of Transportation will temporarily close a lane along a section of Interstate 40 East in Forsyth County this weekend as part of the Winston-Salem Northern Beltway project.

One lane of I-40 East is set to close between High Point Road (mile marker 198) and Union Cross Road (Exit 201) from 9 p.m. Friday until 6 a.m. Sunday, weather permitting.

The closure will allow crews to work on pavement markings and set up a portable concrete barrier wall.

To avoid the work zone, drivers are encouraged to use U.S. 421 (Salem Parkway).

Motorists should remain cautious and be prepared for potential delays due to the alternative route and changes in traffic patterns.
