CHARLOTTE – The recent opening of the I-485 Express Lanes in Charlotte has led to thousands using express lanes to save time on their drive. To assist these customers, there are multiple
ways to pay NC Quick Pass tolls.
In March 2026, nearly 248,000 total trips were taken on the I-485 Express Lanes. Customers without an NC Quick Pass account should be on the lookout for invoices, which are mailed to the registered owner of the vehicle. While the invoice may only be a few dollars, state-mandated
late fees will be assessed for bills not paid by the due date.
Sign Up for NC Quick Pass
New and returning customers are encouraged to sign up for an
NC Quick Pass account. Customers that do so will save 50% on all future NC tolls, can easily
pay tolls in 19 states and will no longer receive a toll invoice in the mail.
Pay Online
The simplest and easiest way to pay NC toll invoices is through
ncquickpass.com, where customers can search for their invoice using their license plate or invoice number.
Pay with the NC Quick Pass App
Toll invoice and NC Quick Pass customers can also pay their tolls through the
NC Quick Pass app, which is available on the Apple App Store or through Google Play.
