MOCKSVILLE – A single lane in each direction of Interstate 40 will close for paving on Thursday.
The left lane of I-40 East, from Farmington Road (mile marker 174) to mile marker 176 will close on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for asphalt paving.
In addition, the right lane of I-40 West from mile marker 177 to mile marker 176 will close, also for asphalt paving.
The lane closures will allow contractors to safely enter and exit the interstate at the project site while placing asphalt in the shoulder area beneath the Pinebrook School Road bridge.
Transportation officials advise drivers to plan ahead, remain alert, and obey all posted traffic signs.
