WINSTON-SALEM — The N.C. Department of Transportation will continue Stage 2 bridge construction for Hanes Mill Road over U.S. 52 next week in northern Winston-Salem.
Construction will include placing of new bridge girders over U.S. 52 at University Parkway between the Northbound and Southbound loops.
On Monday and Tuesday nights, NCDOT crews will close U.S. 52 North and U.S. 52 South at University Parkway from Exit 116 to Exit 115, along with the Hanes Mill Road Bridge between the Northbound and Southbound loops. The road closures will be from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
On Wednesday night, NCDOT crews will close Hanes Mill Bridge over U.S. 52 between the Northbound and Southbound loops from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. The road closure is for setting new bridge girders over the U.S. 52 Northbound shoulder.
Drivers are to plan ahead for delays and to follow all posted detour signs to avoid the overnight work zones.
The contract calls for the completion of the $24 million project by May of 2027.
