LEXINGTON – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close the I-85 Southbound ramp at Old High 64 from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm on May 12 - 15.
The ramp closure is necessary to safely remove trees in preparation for new construction of a roundabout in the area. Clearing the trees and vegetation is a critical safety requirement before the primary construction phase of the roundabout can begin.
The maintenance will be performed by Todco Grading and Frady Tree Service of Lexington and NCDOT crews. This operation is part of a $1.1 million project to construct the roundabout.
