RALEIGH - Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation plan to close a section of Western Boulevard and several ramps at its interchange with Interstate 440 to conduct work tonight.
Westbound Western Boulevard will be closed at the Beltline tonight beginning at 11 p.m. and opening Thursday morning at 5:30 a.m., weather permitting.
This means the I-440 East ramp to westbound Western Boulevard and the on-ramp from Western Boulevard to I-440 West will also be closed during the above times.
Drivers will be detoured to use Hillsborough Street.
Officials encourage drivers to allow extra travel time, follow posted detour signs and use caution while traveling near the work zone.
