ASHEVILLE – The City of Asheville and N.C. Department of Transportation will host a public meeting for a proposed project to construct the Wilma Dykeman Greenway Extension from 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 19 at New Belgium Brewing, 21 Craven Street.
The project involves the construction of a new 0.41-mile section of the Wilma Dykeman Greenway, extends just north of Hill Stret, and provides a direct link to the Riverside Drive multi-use path. This greenway will provide an important northern connection in the larger trail network that makes up the River Arts District Transportation Improvement Project (RADTIP).
The project is being locally administered by the City of Asheville with administrative oversight and project delivery being conducted by NCDOT. The purpose of the public meeting is to introduce 30-percent-complete designs to the community and gather public input.
Project details and maps can be found on the NCDOT project web page publicinput.com/wilma-dykeman-greenway-ext.
Project information will be presented at the meeting allowing for one-on-one discussions with project staff, but there will be no formal presentation. The public may drop in at any time.
People may also submit comments prior to June 30 by phone at 984-205-6615 project code 10354, email wilma-dykeman-greenway-ext@publicinput.com, or mail to Gabriel Johnson, NCDOT Project Manager, 55 Orange Street, Asheville, NC 28801.
