GRIMESLAND – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a portion of N.C. 33 in Pitt County for maintenance beginning Monday.
Both directions of N.C. 33 near Cora Street will close at 8:30 a.m. May 18, while crews replace a failing crossline pipe. The road is expected to reopen by 5 p.m. May 20.
Traffic should detour via N.C. 33, Avon Road, Brick Kiln Road, Robert Little Road and Mobley's Bridge Road.
Motorists are advised to use caution when traveling near the area and seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
