ASHEBORO – Thirty-three miles of roadway in Randolph County are set to be resurfaced, thanks to a $5.7 million construction contract recently awarded by the N.C. Department of Transportation.
Vecellio & Grogan Inc. DBA Sharpe Brothers of Greensboro can begin work in early June to mill and resurface the following N.C. and secondary routes:
N.C. 134 from the Montgomery County line to Dawson Miller Road.
N.C. 159 from U.S. 220 South to Lewis Thomas Road.
N.C. 109 from the Montgomery County line to the Davidson County line.
Center Cross Church Road from N.C. 134 to Old Troy Road.
Pisgah Covered Bridge Road from Hopewell Friends Road to U.S. 220 Business.
Bell Simmons Road from U.S. 220 Business to Southmont Drive.
Southmont Drive from U.S. 220 Business to the end of the cul-de-sac.
Veterans Loop Road from Southmont Drive to the end of maintenance.
Lassiter Mill Road from Burney Mill Road to High Pine Church Road.
Canaan Church Road from the Davidson County line to Farmer Denton Road.
Bescher Chapel Road from Farmer Denton Road to U.S. 64 West.
Jim Pierce Road from Ross Wood Road to Summey Town Road.
Woodfern Road from Old N.C. 13 to Osborn Mill Road.
Little Beane Store Road from Fork Creek Mill Road to Piney Ridge Church Road.
Little Beane Store Road from N.C. 42 to Piney Ridge Church Road.
The project is expected to be completed by late fall 2027.
