LAURINBURG – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a stretch of North Main Street and North Gill Street next week so crews can safely conduct rail replacement work along a railroad track.
Beginning May 25 at 8 a.m., crews will close North Main Street between McGirts Bridge Road and Bizzell Street. The road is scheduled to reopen by May 27 at 4 p.m., weather permitting. A detour will be in place directing traffic around the closure East Bizzell Street, North Pine Street, Dickson Street, Carver Street and McGirts Bridge Road.
North Gill Street will also close between West Railroad Street and U.S. 15/Aberdeen Road starting at 3 p.m. on March 27. This closure will remain in place through May 30 at 4 p.m. Drivers should detour via West Railroad Street, North Main Street and U.S. 15/Aberdeen Road.
Drivers should be mindful of crews working in the area and allow extra time to reach their destination.
