THOMASVILLE – An N.C. Department of Transportation contractor will close a stretch of West Holly Hill Road in Davidson County for culvert maintenance under the road.
The road will close June 1-5 between Lake Road and Kendall Mill Road. Drivers will detour to West Holly Hill Road to Lake Road to Kendall Mill Road to West Holly Hill Road.
Contractor crews will close the road in Davidson County and replace a storm drain culvert which crosses under West Holly Hill Road.
The structural integrity of the current drain pipe is insufficient. Stormwater runoff is not passing under the road correctly because the current pipe has deteriorated with age.
The $50,000 contract for the project has been awarded to Mark Medlin Grading of Lexington, N.C.
Motorists should expect delays and use caution when traveling through work zones.
