MONROE – More than six miles of secondary roads across Union County will be resurfaced soon, thanks to a $699,607 N.C. Department of Transportation contract earned earlier this month by Slurry Pavers Inc., of Richmond, Virginia.
Twenty-two secondary roads are also planned for improvement as follows:
- Oxford Terrace
- Canterbury Lane
- Wellington Drive
- Pleasure Drive
- Leisure Drive
- Raintree Drive
- Carmona Court
- Wesley Woods Road
- Cater Road
- Gatewood Lane
- Weddington Downs Drive
- Eagle Pass Court
- Tall Oaks Court
- Minor Lane
- Antioch Court
- Weddington Oaks Drive
- Nelson Road
- Tree Hill Road
- Timber Oak Court
- Riverton Road
- Reefton Road
- Thames Court
The contract calls for work to start as early as mid-July and be completed by summer of 2027. Road work restrictions will be in place for holidays, holiday weekends, and any unexpected events that may generate high traffic volumes.
