KINSTON – The N.C. Department of Transportation will close a section of Beaver Dam Road for bridge construction beginning next week.
Beginning at 8 a.m. on June 8, Beaver Dam Road will be closed between N.C. 118 and Wall Road for construction of a new bridge over Swift Creek near Vanceboro.
The road and the new bridge are expected to open in late September. Drivers can detour around the closure via Honolulu Road and Pughtown/Wall Road.
Use caution when traveling near the area and seek alternate routes to avoid delays.
