WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH – The N.C. Department of Transportation is launching a new tool to provide additional updates to the public regarding the Wrightsville Bridge Replacement project in New Hanover County.
To keep the community informed, the project team has developed a new subscriber list to provide real-time updates regarding the project via email and text messages.
Residents, media and local partners are encouraged to sign up on the project webpage. Subscribers can also expect to receive newsletter updates that feature photos, videos and construction milestones.
Wrightsville Beach Bridge Replacement Project Information
NCDOT is replacing three vital bridges that provide direct access to and from Wrightsville Beach. Two bridges along West Salisbury Street over Lees Cut and Banks Channel and one on Causeway Drive (U.S. 76) over Banks Channel will be replaced with new structures.
The project will replace the aging structures to improve connectivity and provide a long-term, safe, and efficient multi-modal crossing of Banks Channel and Lees Cut. The new bridges also include upgrades for pedestrians and cyclists.
