NEW SALEM– Next week, N.C. Department of Transportation maintenance crews will temporarily close the roundabout at N.C. 218 and N.C. 205, east of Fairview in Union County.
The roundabout will be closed to traffic starting Monday morning, June 15, so crews can safely replace the concrete truck apron inside the roundabout. The closure is scheduled to last through Wednesday afternoon, June 17.
The following detours will be in place for drivers:
- Trucks on N.C .218 will be detoured to N.C. 200, N.C. 24/27, N.C. 205 and N.C. 742, returning to N.C. 218;
- Trucks on N.C. 205 will be detoured along New Hope Church Road, N.C. 200 and N.C. 24/27, returning to N.C. 205;
- Cars on N.C. 218 will follow N.C. 200, Philadelphia Church Road and Pleasant Hill Church Road;
- Cars on N.C. 205 will follow New Hope Church Road, N.C. 200, and Philadelphia Church Road.
