RALEIGH— The following are highlights from this week at the N.C. Department of Transportation. The stories below are also featured in NCDOT Now, the department's weekly newscast.

How to Subscribe to DriveNC

Signing up is easy. Go to DriveNC.gov, click on "Sign Up", and then enter the phone number or email address where you want to receive alerts. The website will then allow you to create and save routes and opt in for notifications by clicking "My DriveNC" in the menu, then clicking on "My Routes & Notifications"

As part of the website upgrade, users can now view real-time feeds from cameras and message boards across the state.

The department for the first time launched a DriveNC mobile app, equipped with a "Drive Mode" feature to help users reach their destinations safely and efficiently.

I-40 Coast to Coast Campaign Collaboration

The department has partnered with transportation agencies in states along the Interstate 40 corridor to create a collaborative traffic safety video ahead of the busy summer travel season.

Spanning states from North Carolina to California, the video encourages drivers to stay alert, buckle up, avoid distractions and make responsible choices behind the wheel. As road trips increase this summer, the coast-to-coast message reminds drivers that safety is everyone's responsibility.

100 Days of Summer Safety Campaign

The NCDOT has kicked off its annual 100 Days of Summer Safety Campaign, an effort to promote safety awareness and best practices across the department during the high-risk summer season.

The campaign begins with an emphasis on heat stress prevention, providing divisions across the state with resources to encourage workforce safety.
