KINGS MOUNTAIN – The N.C. Department of Transportation closed part of a Cleveland County road on Friday to assess and repair voids under the pavement.
Crews discovered the voids under N.C. 161 between U.S. 74 Business and East Ridge Street while examining a pavement failure Friday. This section of the road will remain closed until repairs are finished.
Drivers will follow a signed detour to U.S. 74 Business then North Oriental Avenue to East Ridge Street before returning to N.C. 161.
