CONCORD – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will start a $2.4 million project in early July to replace the bridge on Gold Hill Road over Dutch Buffalo Creek in Concord. Albemarle contractor NJR Group Inc. earned the contract last fall.
Crews will close the bridge on Monday, July 6, requiring a detour for traffic to have a safe work area. During this phase of the project, drivers will be detoured from Gold Hill Road to St. Johns Road, Mt. Olive Road and Cline School Road, returning to Gold Hill Road.
The bridge should be open to traffic by mid-2027.
