GIBSONVILLE – Norfolk Southern Railway will temporarily close rail crossings on roads in Guilford and Alamance Counties beginning Wednesday to install a second railroad track.
Crossings are expected to intermittently close over the next two days between the following:
- East Joyner Street to Huffines Street, Gibsonville
- Church Street to Oak Avenue, Elon
- York Road to Gilliam Road, Burlington
- Lakeview Drive to South Glen Raven Road, Burlington
- Elmira Street to Main Street, Burlington
Norfolk Southern will post marked detours when crossings are closed.
Drivers should plan ahead for delays and follow all posted detour signs to avoid the work zones.
