ROCKY MOUNT – The N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles is scheduled to open a temporary driver license office today in Durham to provide service to residents while the S. Miami Blvd. office is closed.
The temporary office, at 1811 Palmer St., in the Uplift Community Center, in Durham, will open at noon today, and offer express services such as driver license and ID card renewals and duplicates from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. through July 10. No written, knowledge or skills tests will be administered. The permanent office, at 101 S. Miami Blvd., is scheduled to reopen on July 13.
All customers with previous appointments at the East Durham office were rescheduled.
Three other nearby driver license offices also offer services Monday through Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m.:

• Hillsborough, 1201 U.S. Hwy. 70 West
