Upcoming Traffic Shift Planned for N.C. 211 in Brunswick County

​OAK ISLAND – The N.C. Department of Transportation will shift traffic on N.C. 211 between N.C. 133 (Long Beach Road) and Woodedge Way in Brunswick County this week.

On the night of July 16, weather permitting, traffic pattern modifications will occur at the following locations: 

  • ​All traffic will shift onto the newly constructed future westbound lanes of N.C. 211.
  • Westbound N.C. 211 travelers will use a new ramp and traffic signal to access N.C. 906 (Midway Road or Middleton Boulevard). Westbound traffic will not access the existing signal. 
  • Eastbound N.C. 211 travelers will access N.C. 906 at the existing signal.

The Regency Crossing entrance to St. James will be closed for 30 days following the traffic shift. St. James internal traffic should detour to the St. James Drive entrance.

Signed, temporary access points will be in place for residences and businesses in the following areas south of the highway:

  • ​Between Pinetop Drive and Pine Plantation Parkway 
  • West Trace Drive near N.C. 133

Drivers should use caution when traveling through a work zone and check DriveNC.gov for real-time traffic information. ​
