WINTERVILLE – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will begin resurfacing County Home Road in Pitt County this week.
Crews are scheduled to begin July 22, weather permitting, at the intersection of N.C. 102 and continue north to Worthington Crossroads.
The work will be completed in phases. After finishing the section in Worthington Crossroads, the contractor may temporarily shift crews to complete the work on Briley Road before returning to finish the mill-and-fill operation from Worthington Crossroads to Bells Chapel Road.
The project is expected to be completed by Aug. 10, weather permitting.
Motorists should expect delays due to lane closures. Flaggers will be stationed at each end of the work zone, and a pilot car will guide traffic safely through the work zone.
Drivers are encouraged to slow down and use caution in the area.
