ROARING RIVER – The N.C. Department of Transportation will begin replacing a Wilkes County bridge next week.
Hoots Road will close near Wagon Ridge Road beginning Tuesday while crews replace the bridge over Little Bugaboo Creek. The replacement will take approximately two months, weather permitting.
Drivers can follow a signed detour around the closure on White Plains Road, Tharpe Road and Wagon Ridge Road to access Hoots Road.
Motorists should allow additional travel time, stay alert and avoid distracted driving.
