– The N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will reduce traffic to one lane on a portion of an N.C. 55 bridge in Lenoir County next week.
Beginning Aug. 10 at 7 a.m., traffic on a portion of N.C. 55 (Oak Bridge) over the Neuse River will be reduced to one lane as crews perform planned bridge work.
Portable traffic signals will direct alternating one-way traffic through the work zone.
The temporary traffic pattern is expected to remain in place through mid-September, weather permitting. Reducing the roadway width may restrict access for large farm equipment.
Motorists should expect delays and use caution while traveling through the work zone.
