BESSEMER CITY – N.C. Department of Transportation contract crews will begin replacing an aging culvert in Gaston County next week.
Crews from Country Boy Landscaping Inc., of Harmony, will close part of Bess Town Road near Colebrook Lane on Monday to begin replacing the aging culvert carrying Long Creek under the road. The new structure will improve hydraulic capacity and flow.
Drivers will follow a signed detour around the closure on Kiser Road, Dameron Road and Abel Road until the road reopens this fall.
Motorists should allow additional travel time, avoid distracted driving and obey posted signs.
