GREENSBORO – Norfolk Southern Railway crews plans to close several roads in Orange and Alamance Counties next week to install new railroad tracks.
Rail crossings are expected to close for the upgrade Monday through Thursday, weather permitting. The N.C. Department of Transportation is sending this notification as a courtesy as the following roads will be closed at the crossings:
- Orange County: Redman Road and Buckhorn Road
- Alamance County: Mattress Factory Road, Fifth Street, Fourth Street, Third Street, Moore Road and Gibson Road
A contractor for Norfolk Southern will provide alternate routes and signage to inform drivers of all detours. Drivers should plan ahead for delays and follow all signs to avoid the work zones.
