RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Transportation is seeking public input on a proposal to close the existing Beryl Road railroad crossing at Hillsborough Street. Beryl Road would be extended to Royal Street for all railroad crossings.
An open house will be from 5-7 p.m. on Aug. 27 inside the Method Community Center-Pioneer building at 514 Method Road. The informal meeting will be an opportunity for individuals to look at preliminary design maps, talk to the project team and submit comments.
The proposed changes are intended to reduce congestion and improve safety for vehicular traffic and pedestrians.
People may view project details on the NCDOT public input website, where questions or comments may be submitted to the project team. In addition, people may leave a message for the project team by calling 984-205-6615 (enter project code 10125); or send an email to beryl-road-extension@publicinput.com.
Comments received by Sept. 27 will be considered toward the final design.
NCDOT will provide auxiliary aids and services under the Americans with Disabilities Act for people who wish to participate in this meeting.
