RALEIGH- Contractors for the N.C. Department of Transportation will close the connector from Blue Ridge Road to Hillsborough Street for construction.
Starting Aug. 28 at 8 p.m., the connector will be fully closed to allow crews to shift traffic into a new traffic pattern with one lane operating in each direction and remove the current jug handle detour. The connector is scheduled to reopen the afternoon of Aug. 29, weather permitting.
During the closure, motorists will detour using Youth Center Drive.
Motorists should use caution, follow posted detour signs and allow additional time to reach their destinations.
