HILLSBOROUGH – Crews are set to close an exit ramp along Interstate 85 in Orange County for about two months starting tonight as part of the ongoing I-40 widening project.
Starting Sept. 14 at 9 p.m., crews will close the I-85 South ramp to I-40 East (Exit 163) for bridge and roadway widening work. The ramp is scheduled to reopen by late November, weather permitting.
During the closure, a signed detour will be in place directing motorists to take Exit 161 to access I-40 East.
Transportation officials remind drivers to plan ahead, be alert to construction crews in the area and obey all posted traffic signs.
